How to Remove Adware SpySheriff

Adware SpySheriff or you can say the red wallpaper virus is a adware program that installs itself without your knowledge. It  is an obnoxious bit of adware that pretends to be a legitimate anti-spyware program. It doesn't matter which version of Windows you're running, you are vulnerable to this particular adware program.  It pops up messages claiming your computer is infected with various (fictitious) spyware bugs. It then offers the user a program that will remove them, for a price of course. It's a scam. It can change your computer's settings, install other spyware and adware programs, display unwanted advertisements at any time during your computing experience.  The only bug on your computer is the SpySheriff adware itself. You can remove it with an actual anti-spyware/adware program that comes with Windows.

Steps to Remove Adware SpySheriff

•    Launch Windows Defender. This tool comes pre-installed with Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

•    To run Defender, type the name ("Windows Defender", no quotes) into the Start menu search bar, then hit the ENTER key. Though Windows XP does not come with the tool pre-installed like 7 and Vista, XP users can download a free version from Microsoft Support (see Resources).

 •    Click the arrow next to the "Scan" button once. A menu will appear. Select "Full Scan."

•    Click the "Scan" button once.

•    Wait for the scan to finish. When it does, click "Clean System" or "Remove All" (the wording varies by system) to remove the SpySheriff adware.

•    Restart your computer.
